BIM & TECHNICAL COORDINATION

SUSTAINABLE & HIGH-PERFORMANCE HOMES

Applying passive design principles, sustainable construction methods and performance-focused detailing to create healthier, more efficient homes.

Long before working together, sustainability and passive design were already shaping the thinking behind Atkinson Pontifex.

While one of our directors was involved in the construction of one of Australia’s first homes to win “Australian House of the Year” ; implementing early passive systems including geothermal heating and mechanical ventilation ; another director was completing a university thesis in Denmark focused on converting existing buildings into passive design environments.

At the time, neither knew they would eventually work together delivering high-performance residential projects grounded in the same values: thoughtful design, healthy living environments and long-term building performance.Today, that shared understanding continues to influence how we approach architecture, materials, construction detailing and environmental performance across every project.

SPECIALIST PROCUREMENT & MATERIAL COORDINATION

Managing imported materials, custom fabrication, supplier coordination and logistics for highly detailed residential projects.

End-to-end coordination of imported materials, custom fabrication, and supplier communication. 

We manage the sourcing and coordination of specialised products and finishes from both Australian and overseas manufacturers, supporting projects that require unique materials, custom fabrication, and highly detailed specifications. 

Our team oversees approvals, shop drawings, freight logistics, customs requirements, lead-time management, and supplier communication to ensure all moving parts remain aligned with the construction programme and design vision.

POST-CONSTRUCTION CARE

Providing ongoing support after handover to ensure homes continue to perform as intended and remain finely tuned over time.

Long-term support beyond handover.

A recently completed home continues to evolve once it is lived in. We place strong importance on post-construction follow-up to monitor natural building settling, fine-tune performance, and proactively address maintenance before small issues become larger problems.

Regular communication with our clients allows us to understand how the home is truly functioning day-to-day — what spaces they love most, how the house performs seasonally, and what they may approach differently in future projects.

This immediate feedback loop is invaluable, helping us continuously refine detailing, functionality, and construction methodologies while ensuring every home continues to perform as intended long after completion.
