Sims St is a home defined by meticulous detail, strong family connections and a deeply collaborative construction process. Built on land held by the client’s family for generations, the project pays homage to its history through brickwork, bluestone and period detailing, complemented by elegant interiors and expansive rear living spaces. The project also continues a longstanding relationship between the client’s family and Atkinson Pontifex, bringing an added level of trust and collaboration to the build.
As construction progressed, opportunities to significantly improve the home’s thermal performance, airtightness and energy efficiency were identified and incorporated in close collaboration with the client. These refinements ultimately brought the home close to Passive House principles, despite this not forming part of the original design brief. The result is a highly resolved family home where heritage, architectural character, performance and craftsmanship carry equal weight.
